UGC removed Journals 2021: In this blog post, we have published a list of the journals which have been removed by UGC.
The UGC has received complaints about the inclusion of poor-quality or questionable journals from faculty, researchers, other members of the academic community as well as from press and media representatives. Considering these complaints, the Standing Committee on Notification of Journals re-evaluated every journal-title recommended by universities.
Many journals which were earlier indexed in UGC List have been removed by UGC and barred to be included in the UGC CARE list. The UGC removed 4,305 journals from the current UGC-Approved List of Journals on 02/05/2018 that are either predatory or low quality.

These journals are removed because of poor quality, or incorrect or insufficient information, or false claims.
The UGC has also clarified that 4,305 journals that have been removed on 2nd May 2018 were UGC-approved journals till that date. And, as such, articles published/ accepted in them prior to 2nd May 2018 by applicants for recruitment/promotion may be considered and given points accordingly by universities.
