The minimum amount you get while doing PhD is Rupees 12000 per month and the maximum is Rupees 80000 per month. It depends on where you are doing your PhD. For instance, you may get a good amount, if you do your PhD for renowned institutes like IITs, IISc, NITs, etc. It also depends on whether you are NET JRF qualified. JRF Qualified candidates get a fellowship of Rupees 35000 per month while doing PhD.

Students have to appear for an entrance examination followed by an interview. Only candidates who cleared the entrance exam will be called for the interview.
