JKPSC KAS 2021: The JKPSC (Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission) released a short notice on 8 January 2021 on its official website for conducting combined competitive exam (KAS – 2021). The preliminary exam is tentatively scheduled to be held in July 2021 and mains is scheduled for October 2021. The JKPSC released the following number of vacancies for direct recruitment:
(i) Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service: | 56 Posts. |
(ii) J&K Police (Gazetted) Service: | 141 Posts. |
(iii) J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service: | 60 Posts. |

Eligibility Criteria:-
In order to be eligible for the examination, a candidate must satisfy the following conditions,
(i) that he is a permanent resident of the State;
(ii) that he has attained the age of 21 years but not attained the age of 32 years on 1st January of 2021.
Note, However age relaxation is given to the candidates other than Open Merit.

JKPSC KAS Examination Process
The Combined Competitive Examination shall comprise of two successive stages:-
- Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination; and
- Combined Competitive (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various services and posts.
Preliminary Examination
This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination shall count only for short-listing of the candidates for the Main examination.

Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions).
The Paper-II of the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with
minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
