The Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS), Bengaluru, Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi, and The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Prayagraj have announced the Science Academies Summer Research Fellowship Program for Students and Teachers 2027.
The fellowship provides an opportunity for eligible students and college/university teachers across India to work with scientists associated with the three national Science Academies on short-term research projects.

What is the Science Academies Summer Research Fellowship?
The Summer Research Fellowship Program is offered jointly by India’s three national Science Academies. It allows selected students and teachers to spend two months with scientists or faculty members associated with the Academies.

Who Can Apply?
Eligibility for Students
Students enrolled in the following programs and years can apply:
- BS / BSc: II year only
- BSc (Research): III year only
- BStat / BMath: II year only
- BPharm: III and IV years
- BE / BTech / BCA: II and III years
- BArch: II, III and IV years
- MS / MSc / MVSc / MPharm: I year only
- ME / MTech / MCA / MArch: I year only
- MStat / MMath: I year only
- Five-year integrated MS / MSc / MTech / MBBS / BVSc: II, III and IV years
- PharmD: III and IV years
- Dual degree BTech + MTech: II, III and IV years
- Dual degree BE + MSc: II, III and IV years
- Dual degree BS + MS: II, III and IV years
- Integrated PhD: I and II years only
- MSc Tech: I and II years
The minimum percentage of average marks in core subjects only (i.e. excluding languages) from 10th up to post-graduation (whichever years completed) should be 65% or above for students.
PhD students are not eligible.
Eligibility for Teachers
Teachers must be teaching in a college or university.
