The Fellowship Program offers outstanding early-career researchers an opportunity to conduct independent research at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia.
For the 2027 call, applications opened on September 1, 2026, and the deadline for the first stage is October 1, 2026.

KAUST Global Fellowship 2027 Application Process
The 2027 call uses a two-stage application process.
Stage 1
The first stage is the submission of a research concept note.
Application period: September 1 – October 1, 2026
Applicants should submit their concept note through the KGFP application system. Candidates selected to proceed to the next stage will be contacted separately.
Stage 2: Full Research Proposal
Candidates invited to Stage 2 will be asked to submit a detailed full research proposal.
Stage 2 application period: November 15, 2026 – January 15, 2027
What Does the KAUST Global Fellowship Provide?
The fellowship provides support for up to three years.
Global Fellows can receive up to US$40,000 in dedicated research funding for their approved research proposal.
The program provides a yearly living stipend of US$75,000.
