Scopus regularly evaluates journals based on Publication ethics, Peer-review standards, and Compliance with indexing criteria. When a journal no longer satisfies these standards, it may be removed from the Scopus database.
The latest update was released on 05 June 2026. Scopus removed 25 research journals from its indexed list. Moreover, new journals have also been added to the Scopus journals list.
Several journals published by major international publishers, including Elsevier and Taylor & Francis, have been affected.
In 2025, 56 journals were removed from the list. Moreover, 11 research journals were discontinued in the April 2026 Update.
Articles published after the discontinuation year will not be indexed in Scopus. Authors are advised to check the Scopus indexing before publication.
