The Department of Biotechnology, under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, has officially announced the Call for Proposals under the DBT–Biotech-KISAN Programme for the year 2025–26.
The Biotech-Krishi Innovation Science Application Network (Biotech-KISAN) programme aims to strengthen the direct connection between scientific research and farming communities by translating biotechnology innovations into farmer-ready solutions.
The programme is designed to bridge the long-standing gap between laboratories and farms. The programme addresses core challenges faced by Indian agriculture, including:
- Water scarcity and quality
- Soil health and climate stress
- Access to quality seeds
- Weak market and extension systems
Each applicant may submit only one proposal. Interested researchers can submit their proposals online by 5th April 2026.
