Every year, Clarivate Analytics publishes the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) for journals indexed in the Web of Science. The latest JCR edition was released in June 2025.
In JCR, the Web of Science Journals are provided Impact Factor and Journal Quartiles. Web of Science divides journals into four Quartiles: Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 based on impact factor and citations.
Q1 journals are the top 25% journals in their subject category according to Journal Citation Reports (JCR) published by Clarivate Analytics.
Each journal is ranked within its subject category, not across all fields.
