SAMPLE COVER LETTER FOR RESEARCH PAPER
Kangra, HP, India
Date: 20 April, 2020
I wish to submit an original research article entitled “Automatic Recommendations for Personalization Based on Web Mining and Information Retrieval Techniques” for consideration by Information Systems.
I do confirm that this work is original and has not been published elsewhere, nor is it currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
In this paper, i show that Web recommendation systems are ubiquitous in the world used to overcome the product overload occurred while shopping online.
We believe that this manuscript is appropriate for publication by Information Systems because it relevance to theoretical and technical issues in the support of enhanced decision making.
Web recommendation systems are ubiquitous in the world used to overcome the product overload occurred while shopping online. Collaborative Filtering is known to be one of the best recommendation methods but it has limitations such as Cold Start Problem, Sparsity and Scalability which lead to poor recommendations. In this paper, we proposed a book recommendation system using the hybrid system in order to anticipate the recommendations. The proposed system is a mixture of collaborative filtering and content based filtering which can be explained in three phases: In the first phase, it finds users who are similar to the active user by comparing their profile. In the second phase, it selects the candidate’s item for each neighbor by obtaining vectors Vc and Vm corresponding to the user’s profile and the item contents. In the last phase, it recommends the items to the target user after calculating the prediction value for each item using Resnick prediction equation.
We have no conflicts of interest to disclose.
Thank you for your consideration of this manuscript.
