Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) is receiving proposals under the E-YUVA (Empowering Youth for Undertaking Value-Added Innovative Translational Research) Scheme.

Two Categories of Fellowship
The E-YUVA Scheme provides support under two major categories:
- BIRAC Innovation Fellows
- BIRAC E-Yuva Fellows
1. BIRAC Innovation Fellows
The Innovation Fellowship is intended for students who have completed a Master’s degree or a PhD in any discipline.
For PhD candidates, the application is generally required within two years of completing the degree, while Master’s candidates are required to apply within three years. Female candidates are exempt from these time conditions.
2. BIRAC E-Yuva Fellows
The E-Yuva Fellowship is designed for undergraduate students.
A team can consist of up to five Indian undergraduate students. Students from different disciplines and even different institutions can form a team. The team will work under a mentor.
Financial Support
For Innovation Fellows:
- ₹30,000 per month fellowship for postgraduate fellows
- ₹50,000 per month fellowship for postdoctoral fellows
- ₹3 lakh per year research grant for postgraduate fellows
- ₹5 lakh per year research grant for postdoctoral fellows
The Innovation Fellowship is normally provided for 18 months.
For E-Yuva Fellows:
Undergraduate E-Yuva Fellows receive:
- ₹7,500 per quarter per student
- ₹2.5 lakh annual research grant per team
The fellowship is provided for 12 months.
