The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Taiwan, have announced the ICSSR–NSTC Joint Call for Research Proposals 2026.
The programme aims to strengthen academic collaboration between India and Taiwan in the field of Social Sciences.
Under this bilateral agreement, researchers can send their research proposals in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Research proposals must be jointly developed by Principal Investigators (PIs) from India and Taiwan. The Indian PI must submit the proposal to ICSSR, while the Taiwanese PI must submit a corresponding application to NSTC.
Researchers can submit their proposals online by 03 August 2026.

Eligibility
Applicants must also hold a PhD or equivalent qualification and be employed in a research or academic position in a recognized research or academic institution. Further, they must have an interest in high-quality research.

Selection Process
The proposals will undergo independent peer review by both ICSSR and NSTC. Final selection will be based on academic merit, relevance, feasibility, and mutual benefit to both countries.
How to Apply?
Applications must be submitted jointly by Indian and Taiwanese researchers. Proposals submitted by only one side will not be considered.
Indian researchers must submit both electronic and hard-copy applications to ICSSR by 3 August 2026.
