MSCA Opens Call for Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) is receiving applications for Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026. This Fellowship offers researchers around the world an opportunity to advance their careers.

The MSCA fellowship programme aims to support talented postdoctoral researchers in conducting high-quality research in leading institutions across Europe and beyond.

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to researchers from all over the world, of any nationality and at any career stage, with a maximum of 8 years of research experience after their PhD.  

The call opened on 9 April 2026, and applications will remain open until 9 September 2026.

About the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships are among the most competitive research funding schemes in the world. The programme is part of Horizon Europe.

It is designed to help researchers strengthen their scientific careers through international, interdisciplinary, and inter-sectoral mobility.

The fellowships support researchers holding a PhD who wish to work in another country while collaborating with internationally recognised research teams and institutions.

According to the European Commission, nearly 1,600 projects are expected to receive funding under the 2026 call.

Fellowship Categories

The programme offers two major fellowship schemes:

1) European Postdoctoral Fellowships

These fellowships are open to researchers of any nationality. Selected fellows can carry out a personalised research project in a European Union Member State or a country associated with Horizon Europe.

The duration of the fellowship is up to 24 months.

2) Global Postdoctoral Fellowships

These fellowships are designed for nationals or long-term residents of EU Member States and Horizon Europe associated countries. Researchers can undertake research in a third country for 12 to 24 months, followed by a mandatory 12-month return phase in Europe.
