Scopus removes 07 Journals from its List – February 2026 Update

Scopus regularly evaluates journals based on Publication ethics, Peer-review standards, and Compliance with indexing criteria.

In its February 2026 update, Scopus removed seven research journals from its indexed list. This update is important for researchers, authors, and institutions who publish or plan to publish in this journal.

These removals are part of Scopus’s ongoing efforts to maintain quality, transparency, and ethical publishing standards. The reasons for the discontinuity are outlier behavior, Publication concerns, editorial issues, and quality concerns.

In 2025, 56 journals were removed from the list. Moreover, two journals were also reported to have been removed from the list last month (January 2026): (1) Cultura: International Journal of Philosophy of Culture and Axiology and (2) European Public and Social Innovation Review.

Authors are advised to check the indexing of Scopus before publication.
