Web of Science is a multidisciplinary research database managed by Clarivate. It is widely used by researchers, and institutions to assess the quality of journals and research papers. Currently, 22,670 journals are indexed in the Web of Science. Research Papers published in these journals undergo rigorous review and are of high quality.

WoS journals are trusted by Funding Agencies, Universitites worldwide.
Many institutes require researchers to publish in SCIE or SSCI journals for the award of a PhD. Only journals indexed in the Web of Science are assigned Impact Factors by Clarivate through the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).

Scopus and Web of Science journals
Scopus journals are often contrasted with Web of Science (WoS) journals. WoS covers around 22,000 journals whereas Scopus has broader coverage of more than 28,000 research journals.
WoS journals are offered Impact Factors. Scopus journals are offered metrics like CiteScore, SNIP, SJR, and h-index.
