Who Can Apply?

An important point is that international researchers do not apply independently to the program.

The application must be submitted by an eligible Harvard faculty sponsor, who proposes to host an international collaborator.

The program therefore requires an established relationship between the Harvard faculty member and the proposed visiting scholar.

Requirements for the Visiting Research Scholar

The visiting scholar should have a doctoral degree in a relevant field. Exceptional candidates holding a master’s degree may also be considered.

Priority Research Areas

Priority may be given to applications that align with HGHI’s areas of interest. These include:

  • Health equity
  • Climate change and health
  • Infectious diseases
  • Digital transformation
  • Global health financing
  • Health justice
  • Community-engaged programming
