The Department of Health Research (DHR) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has officially announced the Call for Applications for Short-Term and Long-Term Fellowships Abroad for the year 2026–27.
This fellowship program aims to strengthen India’s health research ecosystem by providing advanced international exposure to researchers.
Eligible candidates can apply online through the portal on the ICMR website.

Objective of the Fellowship
The program is designed to:

Fellowship Categories
Short Term Fellowships Abroad
The duration of Short-Term Fellowships Abroad is 15 days to three months. Candidates applying under this category should be below 57 years of age.
Long Term Fellowship Abroad
The duration of Long-Term Fellowships Abroad is six months to twelve months. Candidates applying under this category should be below 57 years of age.
