The National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, is receiving project proposals for the establishment of Poshan Vatika (Nutri-Gardens) in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) across India.
The Poshan Vatika has to be established for growing a minimum of 30 species of fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plant species in a minimum area of 100 sq mt up to 2 acres in each Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) to provide nutritional support to school-going children.
The list of 111 EMR Schools and the species is provided in the official Notification (Annexure I and Annexure II).
About NMPB:
The National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) has been established by the Government of India to coordinate all matters relating to Medicinal Plants and Support Policies and Programs for the growth of trade, export, conservation, and cultivation. The board is working as a section of the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy (AYUSH).
Interested candidates can submit proposals only through the Ayush NGO Portal before 20 January 2026.

Objectives
- To provide organic and nutritious food to tribal students
- To address micronutrient deficiencies and malnutrition
- To educate students about medicinal plants, nutrition, and sustainability
- To encourage community awareness and conservation practices
Eligibility
Teachers and officers with relevant academic backgrounds from the Government. Organizations, including educational institutes and non-government organizations, are eligible for this program.
Government employees must have at least 3 years remaining before retirement.
