The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), formerly SERB, has designed the International Travel Support (ITS) Scheme to help Indian researchers participate in international scientific events (International Conferences, Workshops, Seminars, etc).
This initiative provides financial assistance to researchers for presenting research papers, chairing sessions, and delivering keynote talks.
This scheme can significantly reduce the financial burden on an Indian researcher planning to attend a conference or workshop abroad.
About ANRF International Travel Support (ITS) Scheme
The ANRF ITS scheme supports Indian researchers to attend international conferences, seminars, symposiums, workshops, training programmes, and short-term schools held outside India.
This scheme provides to & fro economic class airfare by the shortest route, airport tax and visa fees. Registration fee as per actual or Rs. 50,000/- whichever is less will be provided to young scientists (Age< 35) in addition to the above support.
Who Can Apply?
- Applicant should be an active Indian researcher in recognised academic institutions or research laboratories in India.
- The applicant should have an invitation to present an original scientific paper or attend training programmes such as short-term courses, summer/winter schools, workshop etc.
- The applicant can avail this financial assistance under this Scheme once every three years.
- Applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Science, or a Bachelor’s degree in a professional course.

- Endorsement letter (signed & stamped by the Head of the Institution
- Acceptance letter from event organizers
- Abstract of the paper (with author details)
- Applicant’s bio-data with publications & patents
- Date of birth certificate
- Event details and benefits
- Declaration of financial support from other sources (if any)
How to Apply Online?
- Register on the ANRF online portal
- Log in → Proposal Submission → Form Submission
- Select International Travel Scheme (ITS)
- Fill the form and upload the required documents
- Submit between 60–90 days before the event
