The Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) is receiving applications from the eligible candidates for the Post-Doctoral Fellowships.
The selected fellows will be awarded fellowship of Rs.33880/- per month and contingency grant of Rs.24,200/-
per annum for a period of two years. The fellowship period may be extended for further one year.
A total of 10 candidates will get this fellowship. The last date to apply is 16 November 2026.

Who can apply?
Interested applicants must hold a PhD in History or an allied subject. The selected applicant will work full time on an approved research theme under a Senior Scholar as guide.
Applicants should also be affiliated with a university or a reputed research institute.

- A detailed synopsis (Five copies) on the proposed research topic (both soft copy & hard copy) is required along with the application and requisite documents/certificates.
- The applicant should attach self attested copies of the certificates of educational qualifications, date of birth, research experience and signed copy of check list etc., and to be sent by post to the following address:

Selection Process
The selection for the Post-Doctoral Fellowship will be based on expert assessment of the research proposal and a presentation followed by an interview before the selection committee. The presentation and interview may be conducted in online, offline or hybrid mode, as specified by ICHR.
