The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA), University of Oxford, welcomes applications for the prestigious British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026–27.
The fellowship provides an excellent opportunity for outstanding early-career researchers to pursue independent research at a leading UK institution.
The British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship is designed to support researchers in the humanities and social sciences.
Selected fellows will receive funding for a 36-month fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
- Hold a PhD degree.
- Be an early-career researcher.
- Have no more than three years of postdoctoral research experience.
- Meet all eligibility conditions specified in the British Academy guidance notes.
How to apply?
The competition for the Postdoctoral Fellowship is held in two stages. The Outline Stage is open to everyone who meets the eligibility criteria. The Second Stage is by invitation only.
By 09 July 2026 at 9:00 am, researchers must complete the expression of interest form, which includes information about CV, expression of interest, and the details of the potential mentor in the School.
