The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and the French National Research Agency (ANR), France, have jointly launched the Indo-French Call for Joint Research and Innovation Proposals 2026 in the field of Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The India-France call for proposals aims to strengthen Indo-French cooperation on topics combining Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence.
The main objective of this call is to:
- Strengthen Indo-French research networks
- Encourage new scientific collaborations
- Promote innovation at the intersection of Mathematics and AI
Interested researchers can submit their research proposals online by 20 April 2026.

Research Areas
Projects must fall under one of the four major thematic areas:
- Mathematical Foundations of AI
- Theoretical Foundations of Optimization and AI
- Mathematics for safe, trustworthy, and reliable AI
- AI Modeling for PDEs and PDEs Modeling for AI
Submission Guidelines
- A joint scientific proposal must be prepared by the Indian and French partners. The scientific content must be identical in both submissions.
- Each side must appoint:
- A National Scientific Coordinator (ANR side)
- A Principal Investigator (PI)/Co-PI (DST side)

- Endorsement from Head of Institution
- Conflict of Interest Declaration
- Biodata of PI/Co-PI
- Complete proposal in the prescribed format
