Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) is inviting research proposals with grants of up to ₹30 Crore for a duration of 3 years. The funding aims to support cutting-edge AI-driven research in science and engineering under the following tracks:
- AI for Science and Science of AI (ANRF)
- AI for Engineering Design and Accelerated Materials Development (ANRF with DRDO)
- AI for Weather and Climate Modeling (ANRF with MoES under Mission Mausum)
- AI for Bio and Life Sciences (ANRF with DBT)
Funding and Duration of Support
- Research grants up to ₹30 Crore for 3 years (including GPU usage costs).
- In exceptional cases, grants of up to ₹50 Crore may be approved if the deliverables and impact justify the investment.
- GPU usage costs can be covered but must not exceed 70% of the total project budget.
Who can apply?
- Proposals must be submitted in consortium mode with multiple PIs and institutions.
- The lead PI must hold a regular position in an academic institution or a national research laboratory,
- Applicants must be Indian citizens or OCI holders,
- Eligible qualifications include a Ph.D. in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Social Sciences (for AI in quantitative social sciences), or M.D./M.S./M.D.S./M.V.Sc. degrees.
